Enfleurage is an ancient technique for capturing the natural oils of fresh flowers as they exhale their scent.

Natural perfumers, aromatherapists, and herbalists are very interested in this technique because it honors the full spectrum of components of the scent, without denaturing and destroying compounds. In Enfleurage, all the qualities of the natural flower are preserved and concentrated with gentle, controlled evaporation.

In this introduction, you will learn:

  • about a lilac farm in upstate New York that is bringing back this ancient technique and adapting it for modern efficiency

  • how Enfleurage may be applied here in Florida with Jasmine, Ylang Ylang and Mock Orange

  • how a small group of scent gardeners is embarking upon the first ever, Community Enfleurage Co-op, right here in Englewood

  • how you may participate.... or just come to smell the authentic Quintessential Oil of Lilac
